Those killed by omicron in Castilla y León have an average of 82 years

Being over 80 years old would have become the main risk factor when facing covid . This is indicated by the statistics of deaths from covid in Castilla y León during the month of January.

“In the last week, 138 people have lost their lives, and the age measurement of those who lost their lives in January is 82.4 years ”, highlighted the Minister of Health, Alejandro Vázquez.

The Burgos doctor has broken down the percentage of deaths according to age groups. Some figures that make it clear that, although there are deaths in almost all age groups, it is from the age of 80 when the risk skyrockets.

Of all those who died in January, 37 percent were between 81 and 90 years old , 26 percent between 91 and 100, 20 between 71 and 80, 10 percent between 61 and 70 , three percent between 51 and 60 years old, with one percent between 30 and 50 and another one percent in people over one hundred.

And "forty percent of the deceased did not have the complete vaccination schedule", added the counselor as another of the data to take into account to interpret mortality from covid in Castilla y León.
